Homemade Christmas Decoration Ideas
One of the most popular homemade Christmas decorations to make is that of a snowflake. All one needs to make paper snowflakes are scissors and a standard white piece of paper. Take the paper and cut about 3 inches off of the length so that it makes a square. Then, fold the paper in half and cut designs on the middle groove. Unfold the paper, and there is an intricate snowflake that can be taped on a window, or hung from a ceiling with clear thread.
Another easy homemade Christmas decoration is that of a small Christmas tree to hang on the bigger tree, or to hang on a doorknob. For this project, one needs a green piece of construction paper, glue, glitter, and a pipe cleaner. Cut a Christmas tree out of the green construction paper, and, using the glue (it should not be a glue stick) make diagonal squiggly marks across the tree. Then, sprinkle the glitter over the glue for a nice effect. Finally, poke a hole at the top of the tree, and then place the pipe cleaner through it and tie it into a loop.
One more homemade Christmas decoration one could make is that of a snowman. For this project, one needs a bag of cotton balls, a piece of construction paper (preferably white), a glue stick, and black and orange markers. Cut the silhouette of a snowman out of the construction paper and use the glue stick to cover the entire surface of it. Then, take the cotton balls and place them over the glue for a 3D effect. Lastly, use the markers to draw a classic snowman face.
