I do not know about others, but for me the highlight of Christmas is shopping for children’s christmas gifts. I have always encouraged them to write to Santa Claus and express what they wanted for Christmas, and why. I had explained to them that vanity would not do. You cannot say that you wanted a cycle because Tommy got one. Wanting and requesting for anything should have a good reason, and you should deserve it.
The Legend Of Santa Claus And Children’s Christmas Gifts Lives On
Since they are young they still strongly believe in the legend of Santa Claus and Christmas for them holds a different kind of magic. I love to see the anticipation on their faces on the 24th night, and I love to see them scramble for the tree early on the 25th morning to see what Santa Claus left them.
Christmas is all the more beautiful because of the capacity to bring happiness to the hearts of everyone; but most of all because it has the power to make children happy. The best children’s Christmas gift is not the actual gift, but the belief in the magic of Christmas. They love to be part of this magical world, where Santa Claus listens to their prayers and buys them what they have asked for in return for a solemn promise to be good with other kids and at school.
The gift they receive from Santa Claus has a higher value than any other gift because it is proof that they had behaved well throughout the year. The year would be max the last two-three days, but the fact that they were appreciated enough to be rewarded make the children extremely content. As a result of the positive reinforcement of good behavior, children who get what they had asked for Christmas, or at least something close enough, learn to appreciate what it means to make a conscious effort to behave better.
The parents’ role in selecting the children’s christmas gift is very important in the promotion of the legend of Santa Claus, as well as level of satisfaction of the child. In case they could not get the child what he/she asked, it is good if you have a story to stand by to explain seriously why Santa Claus chose to give them some other thing. There is no lack of toys nowadays, and it is easy to get a children’s christmas gift, something that can thrill them, even if they do not get what they had asked for.
